Applicant

  • Name: A.
  • Nationality: Brazil
  • Date of birth:
  • Preferred status of residence: ‘Spouse or Child of Japanese National’ (biological child of Japanese national)

  • Name: B
  • Nationality: Brazil
  • Date of birth:
  • Desired residence status: ‘Long-Term Resident (Notification No. 5-a)’.

This document explains that the above-mentioned applicant’s application for the grant of a Certificate of Eligibility for “Spouse or Child of Japanese National” and “Long-Term Resident” meets the conditions for landing permission stipulated in each item of Article 7(1) of the Immigration Act, and that the applicant fulfils the requirements for the grant.

The applicants theirselves and his representative, XXXX, have directly requested the procedures related to this application and have prepared this document.

  1. Applicability of status of residence

Applicant A (hereinafter referred to as ‘A’) is the biological child (legitimate child) born to father, Brazilian XXXX, and mother, Japanese XXXX (married on DD/MM/YY), and is a Japanese biological child (the second-generation notification). The mother subsequently acquired Brazilian nationality and lost her Japanese nationality, but applicant A was born as a Japanese child at the time of her birth. Currently, the parents reside in XX City, Brazil.

The spouse, applicant B (hereinafter referred to as ‘B’), as the spouse of a person residing with the status of ‘spouse or child of a Japanese national’ who was born as a child of a Japanese national, falls under No. 5 Long-Term Resident (Notification No. 5 a). XXX not only was the marriage legally consummated in the state of Brazil XXX on xxxx year xxxx, but the couple has been married up to the present day, indicating that the marriage is continuing in reality. Please refer to the questionnaire prescribed by your Office for a detailed history of the relationship and marriage.

In addition, both applicant and his wife are of good conduct. In applicant Mr B’s country of residence, XXXX, as a condition for issuing a certificate of non-criminality, an individual request is not sufficient and requires the equivalent of a request form from your office, which we have not obtained at this time. If your department considers it necessary during the examination process, we would be happy to receive a separate additional request in writing from your department, but as there is no provision for good conduct requirements in the ‘Long-term Residents (Notification No. 5-a)’, we believe that it is not necessary to submit a no-crime certificate.

  1. The economic basis of the applicant couple

The applicant couple has their residence in Japan in XX City, Aichi Prefecture, where A’s sister XXXX lives, but they plan to establish a residence in Fukuoka after coming to Japan as a couple. In addition to the elder sister, the applicant’s grandparents live in XXX.

Mr A is (*occupation*) and works for (*company name*) in his current country of residence and had an annual income of (*amount*) last year. Mr A is planning to come to Japan after retiring from his current job and has been busy with interviews to find a job in Japan, but has not yet received a job offer. Mr B, on the other hand, is working for a multinational company (*company name*) as (*occupation*), but is also looking for a job as he is retiring and coming to Japan. He has been in contact with xx and discussions are ongoing.

In addition, Mr A and Mr B together have investment assets and savings worth more than JPY xxxx million to cover their immediate expenses. In addition, as both Mr B and Mrs A are highly educated specialists or executives, there is a high probability that they will be able to find employment as soon as they arrive in Japan. The main reason why they have not yet found employment is that there are limits to their job-seeking activities from abroad, and they will have more opportunities once they arrive in Japan. The couple’s chances of settling down in Japan are expected to be high, and it is unlikely that they will face economic difficulties in living as a couple in Japan, so it can be said that they have an economic base in Japan.

  1. Conclusion

As stated above, it is clear that the application meets the requirements for the grant of a certificate of eligibility. The applicant couple wish to live together as husband and wife and to start a new life in Japan. Therefore, we would be grateful if you could grant the applicants a certificate of eligibility so that they can come to Japan.
